Before you run out to do all kinds of fun things I have a confession to make. I am feeling inadequate, and I must get it off my chest: I am dying to learn how to sew. I have all kinds of handmade things in my home (curtains, throw pillows, quilts, a fab bridesmaid-turned-cocktail dress), but none of them were made by my hands. My dream is to convert second-hand clothes into chic creations. It’s in my genes, my mother makes things like this:

out of scraps of fabric. Maybe she will get me a sewing machine for Christmas. ***Hint, hint*** And then teach me how to use it.

The first thing I will make is this:

Doesn’t it look so very Anthro? And at a teeny, tiny fraction of the cost!
