Tuesday’s dinner with the ladies was long-awaited and absolutely fabulous. Due to illness, we hadn’t met in several weeks, so I wanted this dinner to be special. Unfortunately, I was short on time, so I defaulted to one of my favorite easy dishes: frozen wild mushroom ravioli.
I made the sauce from scratch, though – and [...]

Oh, it’s delightful.
But…cheddar and pear? If you are weirded out by the idea of this combo, please just trust me on this one. It is a fall staple (umm…yes, pie can be a staple) in our house, and it’s what I brought to the family Thanksgiving meal. It was gobbled right up.
Cheddar Pear Pie
1 (9-inch) [...]

Welcome to K’s second recipe post ever! I’m not the cook in this group. Or any group, for that matter. However, I had to share this fun alternative to pumpkin pie.
Disclaimer: I have not personally made this. But I think it sounds (and looks!) delicious. And once I made Paula Deen’s cream cheese frosting and [...]

Tavern….sloppy joe…loose-meat…umm..manwhich…?
Whatever you may call it, the tavern is an old-fashioned and yet timeless entree. Okay, maybe it’s a stretch to call saucey ground beef on a bun an “entree” … or “timeless” for that matter, but whatever.
Here’s the recipe, for those who aren’t afraid to embrace their inner Midwesterner:
Binkie’s Taverns
2 lb hamburger
1 T lemon [...]

Hello, lovelies! How is it Monday already? My weekend was a blur of home projects (none of them fun and blog-worthy, sadly. Unless you want to see before and after pics of our gutter clean-out…) and went by WAY too quickly.
I can’t think of a better way to cure a case of the Mondays than [...]

Tuesday’s dinner with the girls was delicious this week. I mean, it always is, but now that I can smell and taste again, it seemed particularly enjoyable.
Here are the recipes, so you can be like us. Just don’t make a bunch of whole-grain spaghetti to serve under the chicken and then forget that it is [...]

I need to taste something.
After now TEN days of not being able to smell, talk, or really enjoy food, it’s time for some spice. Enter, Phil’s chili.
Phil is a tall, athletic, lanky runner – in other words, my exact opposite – but our taste buds were linked over this recipe. That sounds like we made out. [...]

By popular demand, here is Abbie’s recipe for white chicken chili. Take it from me – it is delicious! (This coming from a girl who is not normally a fan of chili…)
White Chicken Chili
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts–cooked and shredded (when cooking, place on baking sheet, sprinkle with salt & garlic powder, and bake at [...]

It snowed on Saturday, and it has been cold and windy ever since. While that’s just not right for this early in October, the frosty weather has definitely opened the gates for all forms of comfort food. (Not that it takes much for me to open those proverbial gates.)
For our girls’ night this week, Abbie [...]

I know, the title of this post is a little unlikely. But seriously – this is probably the lightest, most chic beef stroganoff recipe (wow…chic? really? beef?) that I’ve ever eaten.
On Tuesday evenings, while our husbands work/play/go to class, K, our good friend Abbie, and I make dinner together. There is always a lot of [...]
