To try to atone for our misdeeds, I have compiled a lovely collection of Easter decor. I know, over-the-top and completely unnecessary, right? Actually I may have an ulterior motive – I am hosting Easter dinner this weekend and need some inspiration for my tablescape.  Who do I turn to for help? None other than my girl, Martha. Behold:

If you’re like me, you have a dark, distant basement corner stacked high with paint cans from previous projects. You’ve let the pain run all the way down the side of the can, and have no way of keeping track what the lovely hues were used for. Don’t worry, lovelies, no need to cower in shame anymore! Brooklyn Limestone (check out this site – it’s completely fabulous) came up with a fun way to keep paint cans organized and lovely.

Are you totally lost? Don’t worry, I’m known for random tangents and awkward segue {Case in point – I learned how to spell “segue” while sitting next to G in a COLLEGE lecture. He wrote it in his notes {yes, I was reading over his shoulder}. Previously I was sure it was spelled “segway.” It was a true “aha” moment for me, and now whenever I see the word I think of that moment. Aren’t you glad I shared that with you?}

Design*Sponge is one of my favorite sites to peruse. They feature all kinds of decor-inspired content, from stunning DIY projects to designer spaces. What’s not to love? I always grab quite a selection of photos for my inspiration files, and last week I noticed a theme: red chandeliers. Behold:

I love the unexpected pops of color {not to mention the painted stripes…….can I get an “amen”?!?}

I have a chandelier identical to the last one just sitting in my basement. You better believe I’m wracking my brain to come up with a spot for it…..

If that wasn’t exciting enough, I’ve stumbled across the perfect project. It involves chalkboard paint AND organization, naturally I’m all about it How cute is this:

I think I need one. Luckily I already have all of the supplies. Yes, even an old window. I may have found a group of eight old windows for sale during my daily craigslist stalking. They may be perfect for a renovation we’re hoping to take on soon, so I may have purchased all eight and then forced G to help me pick them up on Superbowl Sunday. Yes, he may be some kind of saint. I think I can spare one to make a calendar!

Alright, now I know who is truly devoted I just had to brag on G a little. We don’t do a big Valentine’s Day (we prefer to go to the drugstore February 15 and purchase discounted candy. Hot, I know), but he always delivers a heart-felt card. This year was no exception.  Check out what my crafty man came up with:

That’s right. He used this template (from my girl, Martha), went to the craft store for pink PAISLEY scrapbook paper, created a masterpiece, and wrote lines from one of our favorite songs on the edges. Martha, pink paisley, and John Mayer. G knows how to keep this girl happy.

AND, if that wasn’t enough, I found a Snicker bar on my steering wheel this morning left there by G after I sent him to fill my car with gas last night. What a guy.

I love you, G! Thanks for getting my Monday off to a good start.

Are you crafty? Me neither. If I give my love a card, it’s generally something pretty I found at Hallmark or Target. But…there are so many adorable and simple DIY Valentines out there! I am going to take some initiative this year. Because I know A. will really appreciate the extra effort. Because he loves cards. And poems. And Valentine’s Day. me.

The beauty above is a sewn paper Valentine by Molly at the purl bee. Now that K. has a sewing machine, I am fully expecting one of these in my mailbox.
