Step Up to the Plate

I hope you enjoy the baseball reference in the title. No, I’m not a fan. But I was raised by a fanatic. My father is one of the most devoted New York Yankees followers in history. His is a deep and undying love. Every year, for close to 30 years, our annual family reunion is held in Kansas City when the Yankees are in town to play the Royals. Everyone attends one game, but he will go to all three AND batting practice. We call it “Yankee Weekend” (yes, we are a creative bunch), and until I was in the first grade I thought that Yankee Weekend was a holiday that everyone observed. My little friends informed me otherwise. It’s their loss, in my opinion. I love me some ballpark cuisine :)

No, this post has nothing to do with baseball. Or any sport, actually. I could just tell you wanted to hear that story. You’re welcome.

ANYWAY. I am feeling the need to create. Today I produced two of these adorable party flower brooches. They actually turned out well, and I am extremely proud of myself. I’m ready to tackle something else (no quitting while I’m ahead for this girl). I have found the perfect candidate:

fabulous candlesticks

+ funky plates

+ firm-hold epoxy

= PERFECTION!

That’s a home run if I’ve ever seen one.

(Go here for the original post and all kind of other great ideas!)

Do you have any big weekend plans?

Don’t glue your fingers together,
