As the snow blows merrily past my window and Murray leaves wet little paw prints all over my floor, I have come to the realization that I am severely lacking in appropriate winter clothes. I am fantasizing about plush socks and quilted robes. Anyone else?
These would do nicely…
And if I manage to step out of the house, this adorable cowl would warm me right up:

One thing is certain – it’s time to retire my pretty flats and move on to socks and boots. Does anyone else feel extraordinarily frumpy when they can’t wear cute shoes? I have historically tended toward something like this when it gets colder, but I am not a backpack-slinging college student anymore…so how do I dress up my look without freezing my toes off?
My boots are decently cute (these Emu’s from last year), but I am not allowed to wear skinny jeans (it’s in a bylaw somewhere), so no one ever gets to see the cuteness. While they do keep my tootsies toasty, they also slighty puff out my calves under my boot-cut jeans. Problem.
Any advice?
Dreaming of a fall-like Christmas,

I have those EXACT same Emus and the exact same ban from skinny jeans. And I have no solution to the problem.
Haha – Christina, I actually put those boots on my Christmas list after I saw your blog post about them last year!
They’re great. I’ll let you know if I ever solve the problem!
