Hooked on Jewelry

So, I’m still in the brainstorming phase of turning my writing desk into a chic, modern vanity. As I dusted it off and tried to organize the random clutter this past weekend, I realized just how out of control my jewelry situation is.

Necklaces askew, bracelets hanging in and out of drawers, hair baubles falling on the floor and getting chewed up by Murray… anyway, the situation needs correction.

Correction in the form of this amazing jewelry tree? Yes. Yes, I think so.

I could also handle this little antique-chic number:

But then again…maybe I don’t want to spend all my money for this vanity project on the jewelry stand…

I could be creative and aggressive and proactive (all things that are far from my reach on a Tuesday), and tackle a DIY jewelry organizer like this (by the prolific and talented Three Men and a Lady lady):

The old metal hooks are sort of charming with the gilded white frame! But…where would I put it? I want a mirror above the desk, so this might be too big for my needs…

And then…I found this! This project is easy and the end-product is funky.

I’ll just need to, you know, find a branch this is small enough and nicely shaped. And dry. It’s currently raining outside…so…maybe I can get my husband to do it for me. He likes hunting, so it fits, right?

What do you use to organize your beads and pretties?

I use a fun metallic jewelry box I got at TJ Maxx, but prior to that I used a sock organizer from Target. It was cream and neutral so while not pretty, wasn’t ugly. But two thoughts for you:

Bed Bath & Beyond has a similar tree stand for $20. Here is the link:

Also, I like this white ceramic dish from Young House Love…

But it would make a good DIY project. There has to be a dozen ideas out there if you want to go about the trouble. I’d go with the BB&B version of that tree.

Can’t wait to see the final product!
