Well, tis the season – Christmas decor is out in force at every retail establishment in this country. It is my personal belief that Thanksgiving deserves its day, therefore no Christmas decor will be displayed in our house until the day after Thanksgiving. However, I may or may not have already purchased some new ornaments for the new look I’m planning for our tree…..A girl can plan, people.
And, speaking of planning, there’s nothing a type-A control freak (such as myself) loves more than a good list. I’ve been hard at work making our Christmas list and trying to figure out gifts for our loved ones. I stumbled upon this organization on my daily blog tour and encourage you to make water part of your Christmas planning.
Why water? I’ll let the experts answer that:

In addition:
Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Many people in the developing world, usually women and children, walk more than three hours every day to fetch water that is likely to make them sick. Those hours are crucial, preventing many from working or attending school. Additionally, collecting water puts them at greater risk of sexual harassment and assault. Children are especially vulnerable to the consequences of unsafe water. Of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation, 90% are children under 5 years old.

I love the feeling of finding a gift that is perfect for that certain someone, but I can’t imagine anything better than being a part of providing clean water for those that need it. Please consider helping to meet this need – $10 can change a life.

Happy Friday!

Thank you for posting this. Water truly IS an enormous need in the world–being in Africa for 10 months really opened my eyes to it. We are so blessed here in the U.S. to have clean, safe drinking water. We take it for granted 100%. I hope lots of people tap into this one–clean water can save many, many lives!
Thanks for sharing, J &K! Muah.
