In my hometown, hours and hours away from where I currently live, stalkers, there is a fabulous Dutch bakery. Forget agriculture – I’m pretty sure the town’s economy is built on almond patties and freshly baked rolls and doughnuts.
The bakery expanded a few years ago to include a kitchen/knickknacky section. There are adorable bowls, funky aprons, charming kitchen tools, and, of course, loads of Wilhelmina Peppermints.
On one of my last trips home, my sister and I spotted a row of the cutest tulip magnets you ever saw. We had to have them. Which is, you know, sort of weird. Who needs a magnet? Up until now, the only magnets I’ve owned have been the freebies you get from the pizza place and your hair salon.
But, isn’t it darling? Hand painted, to be sure. And just the right size. I tried to take some snazzy pictures of the carving and brushstrokes ….

…which is difficult, when you don’t put down the lens cap…..

…also difficult when your canine can jump five feet in the air and really wants to know if you’re holding something edible…

Anyway. It’s pretty. It’s my first “real” magnet. Wow. I’m old and boring.

Do you have any special magnets? Is this post ridiculous? Sorry, it’s Friday.
Happy…umm…sticking things to your fridge,

I have real magnets! But to be honest, I think I bought them out of a fear that someday K would come visit me and be ashamed that I didn’t have any.
I’m pretty sure that I need to get a magnet like that. I love it. LOVE it!!!
I have to agree with you. I’m pretty certain I would have picked that up immediately as well.
