Hello, lovelies, I have quite the treat for you today! I stumbled upon a new blog last week and have been devouring all of the eye-candy ever since (I gorged myself, it’s true). Life in the Fun Lane is written by the lovely Holly….

and oh, how fun it is! She takes second hand furniture from dated to chic in some of the most dramatic transformations I have ever seen. For example:

She explains her technique in this how-to.
She created super chic Halloween decor using thrift store finds.

Her home renovation is nothing short of inspiring:

She has a beautiful little girl, Wren Berry….

….who sleeps in the most amazing nursery I have ever seen!

Of course she re-vamped the changing table herself.

Holly is clearly (ha!) a fan of white, and here is her take on loving white decor AND loving a family that includes pets and a baby. Her home is proof that amazing style does not require dramatic wall colors.
I seriously spent hours this weekend reading her archives and am ready to paint our entire house luscious shades of white! G returned from his weekend trip and vetoed that idea (we have already painted every room at least once)….but you better believe I filled my inspiration folder with ideas to implement in our yet-to-be-completed attic. Stop by her site and say hello!
Happy Monday!

P.S. Do you have any items you have transformed? Submit your photos and an explanation of how you accomplished such a feat to

I wonder how white this house will be in another year when their girl is a toddler. . .
Gorgeous!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the white – it is so elegant. And fresh. It makes me feel like snuggling in a big pile of white pillows and sleeping FOREVER. Sorry, it’s Monday.

I love how she’s made over all that furniture. I will be looking at her stuff when I have the time and need for more furniture. I do white painted furniture, but I can’t bring myself to white upholstered furniture. Forget pets and babies. I don’t trust myself!

I love this post. Goodness, it makes me want a house with nothing more than dark hardwood floors and all white furniture. I totally agree, sometimes colorful walls ruin a clean aesthetic.
I’m in the middle of (hopefully) refinishing my room, I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done. I also got some awesome furniture from my mother that I plan on refinishing, too. These photos get me really excited to do it!
if you want to see some really cool refurbished furniture check out Barb’s creation at the knack: http://knackstudios.blogspot.com/2009/03/remember-this-lovely-lady.html
she gives all her pieces names like “Maude” and “Amelia!” they have so much character- i love them all. the one above is my favorite. I LOVE everything she posts about!
