Many thanks to Abbie for directing us to this site.

These Jessie Steele vintage aprons are SO incredibly chic, and very Mad Men-esque. They make me want to put on pearls, spray my hair into a fashionable coiffure, and maybe sip something out of a cut-glass tumbler. Maybe.
What do you think? Could I rock this?

Love the poppies!
This houndstooth number from the top image is also a favorite:

They’ve also got adorable aprons for children, like this one:

I’ll confess: I’ve never legitimately worn an apron. And yet, I spill on myself all the time while cooking, so why not? I think any of these would do the trick – but I might have to up the ante on my dinners to really set the scene. I don’t think I would feel right getting all glizted-up and be-aproned just to make mac & cheese.
What about you? Do you wear an apron? Do you love it? Do you smoke a long, skinny cigarette and drink bourbon? Nevermind!
Happy dusting and flouring,

Edit: K, here. I love LOVE these. I think I may need one……but G does all the cooking at our house (it’s better that way, trust me). Which one do you think would look best on him?
AHHH! Wasn’t sure if you would “take” the suggestion about the fabulousness of these babies. Are they so va-va-voom? Yes, I adore them. Great Friday Find, ladies!
I actually DO wear an apron, almost every time I cook! I have one my grandma made me using retro orange and white fabric that I love!
I have my own drawer full of “vintage” aprons – including one I made for my mother when I was in junior high home ec. Oh my, that was in the 60’s. I cannot bring myself to throw it away, although it is stained and worn. It is even gingham.
I have worn an apron for years because I am a very sloppy cook. It is always the same old white cooks apron. Cannot say I ever wore pearls with it though. Someday I will treat myself to a new one.
J – the black and red poppies apron would look fabulous on you.
Adorable! I don’t wear an apron but if I did, I would choose one of these
I also have a drawer of vintage aprons worn by my grandma and aunts at many of our family feasts….they are so much fun to wear now…and they are so ugly that they are cute…in a weird kind of way. For a long time I kept my apron that I made in home-ec..(that’s what they called it back then)….a long, long, long time ago .I got a D for my grade on that darn thing…but I hung on to it for many years…and sadly now I can’t find it anymore. Needless to say, sewing is not my thing. I love the June Cleaver look in the first photo…”Wally, Beaver, come and wash up for supper!”
