In case you haven’t noticed, we have babies on the brain here at Homage. There are few activities I love more than making G mull over names for our hypothetical children. That’s why I am OBSESSED with nymbler.com (thanks, Shadley!). A personal baby name assistant that brainstorms names to fit your style – how fabulous!
To demonstrate, I will use some of my favorite names that G has emphatically vetoed:
Bianca
Miles
Collier (Call-yer. For a boy. Shut up, it’s a great name!)
Based on these names, Nymbler suggests I name my children:

What do you think? Gerda Leontine? Kiefer Mario? Iris Claudia? Believe it or not, G has vetoed all of the above. Back to the drawing board….
Tip: click “more names” at the bottom right corner of the screen to get more suggestions. Also, if you love a name click the heart icon by that name; if you hate it click the “no” sign. Nymbler is so smart it will track them for you! An ideal assistant, if you ask me.
What does Nymbler suggest you name your children?

I (J) couldn’t stop myself from doing this as well! I used some of my old favorites (which, sadly, A. vetoed long ago, probably before we even met…): Merrick, Hubble, Lenore, and Jolie.
Here are my results (sorry, no winners like ‘Gerda’):

You may laugh, but I actually LOVE the name Dorothea. Like Dorothea Lange. Pretty. Not so hot about Mercer. Sounds investment-y. K would probably dig it.
Come on! Play along! You know you want to

j – but you did get Esme…. so win.
I’m gonna try it now!
K, if you named a child Hobart… I don’t know if I could manage to not mock it. I promise I would try really hard. But I’d likely fail.
Thanks for the shout out! Even though we may be done, I still go on Nymbler.com! And I also love Dorothea!!
Ohh, this looks fun! We actually really like Dorothea as well (it’s Curt’s mom’s name). We will likely use it for a middle name of any future daughters (pending we have one). I’m excited for any new babies to come along anytime soon–just FYI
ooooh…..this is perfect, we dont’ have a name for baby #2 yet! we’ll see what it tells me!!
